The Camp for Climate Action is only 3 weeks away!  From August 27th– September the 3rd somewhere in London, people from all walks of life will come together for a week of sustainable living and education.

But how are you going to get there? By Bus? By Train? By Car? By Plane? Or why not use the most environmentally friendly form of transport that there is? Go by Bicycle!

Last year as I read the news I was inspired by the climate camp, and I resolved then to join in the ride to camp this year. But as the date approaches and despite many emails to many people, I can’t find a ride to join. Last year many people cycled from Nottingham, but I am not sure if this is happening again this year. So I have decided to put together this Bolg to invite everyone to ride with me to this years camp for climate action, and to log our journey as we go.

We will be setting off from Nottingham at 10am on the 25th of August, and aim to arrive at camp sometime on the 27th. We will be camping wild for two nights, and cycling around 50 miles a day.

What you will need:

  • A bike in a good state of repair.
  • Suitable clothing for 3 days of riding + waterproofs  (in addition to your cloths for at the camp)
  • Food and water for 3 days
  • Tent, Sleeping bag and mat
  • Toiletries
  • Spare inner tube and basic bike repair tools and parts

Don’t forget to bring anything else you would normally need while camping, but please no knives!

I would also recommend looking at the blogs for previous Climate Camp related bike rides:
